My name is Emma Parkinson - my business name Bumble and Iris comes from a combination of a love of Bumble Bees and a favourite Auntie Iris whose name was given to my daughter but also represents a beautiful flower.
I adore being in the garden and in particular I love to grow colourful, scented and bee friendly flowers.
In my cottage garden and an additional local plot I grow natural and fragranced country garden flowers which cannot be found in your local florist or supermarket.
Bumble and Iris is set in the beautiful British countryside - in the deepest rural county of Devon
- on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.
I only work with my own flowers grown from seed - filled with love and care through every stage or other locally grown flowers when I am providing for a wedding or event.
Being in the greenhouse and garden is a great remedy for the stresses of life and I enjoy seeing the bees, birds and butterflies enjoying the refuge of the garden.
I am a member of Flowers from the Farm - a national network of British flower growers .
Only 10% of flowers sold in the UK are grown here - I am hoping to reduce flower miles and increase diversity in my immediate environment as well as in local business.
